I purchased this wood in 9 inch rounds to make christmas presents this year. The wood has very nice grain structure to it and is attractive when finished. The only part I do not like as much about this wood is the end grain is pretty pourus. Not the end of the world, a couple coats of Poly and it is gone. The wood cuts nicely with a gouge and goes pretty quickly on a lite duty lathe. My lathe is from Harbor Freight and is a 12X36 bed. I will always recommend any wood from Got Wood?. I buy all my wood from them and it has all been great quality and price.
