Yellowheart (Aspidosperma spp.)—is a South American hardwood valued for its strength, fine grain, and attractive natural color. The wood typically ranges from yelllow to yellowish-brown or light pinkish-tan, sometimes deepening with age.
Aspidosperma turns cleanly with sharp tools, producing smooth cuts and good detail. Its grain is generally straight with a fine to medium texture, making it predictable on the lathe and easy to sand. When properly dried, it offers good stability and finishes well, developing a clean, refined surface.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, tool handles, furniture components, and decorative turnings.
Special Note:
May contain a few bug holes and some darker colors than just yellow. Please refer to pictures for examples.
