Recommended for experienced turners. Wood is typically light pink or tan in color. This species is moderately hard.
Grain can be straight or interlocked. Cutting requires sharp tools. Sands to a medium lustre, finishes easily, and
is stable when dried.
Special Note:
American lacewood is actually quartersawn sycamore, cut in a manner which produces striking ray fleck patterns in
the wood. The typical pattern can be seen in the quartersawn sample photo shown here.
