Product Description

These pieces are all river birch. River birch commonly has some reddish brown heartwood, but this particular tree had some exceptionally nice colors with marbled patterns mixed in throughout! Very uncommon to find. Suitable for intermediate level turners. Wood has a mix of reddish brown colors with marbled patterns throughout. This species is moderately hard and straight grained. Cuts well. Sands to a medium lustre, finishes easily, and is stable when dried.

Special Note:

These pieces will contain at least 75% of the marbled heartwood. Some pieces will contain small amounts of tan colored sapwood.

Drying Tips:

This wood has a high initial moisture content and will require extended drying times.
