4"x1.5" KD Figured Eucalyptus Wood Bowl Turning Blank

We are currently sold out of this item.

Product Description

These pieces have been fumed, which changes the colors from light pinkish tan to a mixture of yellows, dark browns and black. Fuming is the process by which the lumber is exposed to gasified ammonia, which causes a reaction with tannins in the wood to alter the color throughout. Recommended for experienced turners. Wood is typically a mixture of golden yellow, dark brown, and black. This species is very dense, but cuts well. Sands to a very high lustre, and finishes easily.
Special Note:
These pieces may occasionally contain very small checks, as heavily figured eucalyptus is very difficlt to dry.
