Product Description

Recommended for experienced turners. Wood is typically light pink or tan in color. This species is moderately hard. Grain can be straight or interlocked. Cutting requires sharp tools. Sands to a medium lustre, finishes easily, and is stable when dried.

Special Note:

American lacewood is actually quartersawn sycamore, cut in a manner which produces striking ray fleck patterns in the wood. The typical pattern can be seen in the quartersawn sample photo shown here.

Drying Tips:

This wood dries very well and should not require special care.
