Suitable for inexperienced turners. Wood is typically tan or white in color. This species is moderately hard. Grain can be straight or wavy. Cutting requires sharp tools. Sands to a high lustre, finishes easily, and is stable when dried.

These pieces may occasionally contain light mineral stain or an ambrosia streak. Curly figure runs through at least 75% of each piece.
