Kiln Dried Curly Ambrosia Maple
Curly Ambrosia Maple combines the dramatic spalting of ambrosia maple with flowing curly figure for a truly eye-catching hardwood. The wood ranges from creamy white to light tan, accented by gray, blue, and black ambrosia streaks along with shimmering curl that adds depth and movement.
Curly Ambrosia Maple turns beautifully with sharp tools, producing smooth cuts and excellent detail. Softer ambrosia areas benefit from light cuts, but the underlying maple grain sands well and finishes to a bright, polished surface. When properly dried, it offers good stability and standout visual appeal.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, vessels, spindles, pens, and decorative showcase pieces.
Please note: Kiln-dried woods may vary in thickness by up to 1/4", but will usually be only 1/8" undersized due to surfacing.
