Kiln Dried Padauk
Padauk (Pterocarpus spp.) is a bold exotic hardwood prized for its vivid color and excellent durability. Freshly cut, padauk displays bright orange to red tones that gradually deepen to a rich reddish-brown or purplish-brown with age and exposure to light.
Padauk turns cleanly with sharp tools, producing crisp detail and smooth surfaces. Its fine to medium texture sands easily and finishes well, making it suitable for both functional and decorative turning projects. When properly dried, padauk offers good stability and strength.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, pens, tool handles, furniture accents, and decorative items.
