Kiln Dried Afromosia
Afromosia (Pericopsis elata)—is a premium African hardwood prized for its rich color, strength, and refined appearance. Often used as a subsitute for Teak. The wood ranges from golden brown to deep amber or medium brown, often darkening with age and developing a beautiful, teak-like patina.
Afromosia turns smoothly with sharp tools, producing clean cuts and crisp detail. Its grain is generally straight to slightly interlocked with a fine to medium texture, allowing it to sand easily and finish to a smooth, elegant surface. When properly dried, afromosia offers excellent stability and durability.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, furniture components, cabinetry, and high-end decorative turnings.
