Kiln Dried Sipo Mahogany
Sipo Mahogany (Entandrophragma utile) is an African hardwood valued for its rich color, strength, and classic mahogany appearance. The wood ranges from light to medium reddish-brown and often displays subtle ribbon or stripe figure caused by its interlocked grain.
Sipo turns smoothly with sharp tools, producing clean cuts and crisp detail. Its fine to medium texture sands well and finishes to a warm, lustrous surface. When properly dried, sipo offers good dimensional stability and durability, making it suitable for both functional and decorative turning projects.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, furniture components, cabinetry, and decorative accents.
