Kiln Dried Fireland Cherry
Fireland Cherry (Nothofagus pumilio)—also known as Lenga or Patagonian Beech—is a South American hardwood valued for its light, warm color and smooth, even grain. The wood typically ranges from pale cream to light pinkish-brown, offering a clean, refined appearance similar to beech or light cherry.
Lenga turns very smoothly with sharp tools, producing clean cuts and crisp detail. Its fine, uniform grain sands easily and finishes beautifully. When properly dried, lenga provides good dimensional stability and predictable performance on the lathe.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, furniture components, utility items, and decorative turnings.
