Kiln Dried Curly Shedua
Curly Shedua (Guibourtia ehie)—also known as Ovangkol—is an exotic hardwood prized for its rich color, dramatic curl, and excellent turning performance. The wood ranges from golden brown to medium brown, often accented with darker chocolate or black streaks. The curly figure adds striking movement and depth, making each piece visually unique.
Curly Shedua turns smoothly with sharp tools, producing clean cuts and crisp detail. Its medium to high density allows it to sand well and finish to a natural, lustrous surface. When properly dried, it offers good stability, making it suitable for both functional and decorative turning projects.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, vessels, pens, tool handles, and decorative accents.
