Figured Bubinga (Guibourtia spp.) is a premium African hardwood prized for its rich color and dramatic natural figure. The wood ranges from pinkish-red to deep reddish-brown, showcasing eye-catching figure that adds depth and movement to the surface.
Figured Bubinga turns very well with sharp tools, producing smooth cuts and crisp detail. Its high density and fine to medium texture allow it to sand cleanly and finish to a high, natural luster. When properly dried, bubinga offers excellent stability and durability, making it ideal for both functional and showcase turning projects.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, vessels, spindles, pens, furniture accents, and decorative pieces.
