Product Description

Curly Soft Maple is a beautifully figured hardwood valued for its shimmering curl and light, versatile color. The wood ranges from creamy white to light tan, with curly (fiddleback) figure that creates eye-catching movement and depth across the surface. Curly Soft Maple turns smoothly with sharp tools, offering clean cuts and good control on the lathe. Its fine, even grain sands easily and accepts finishes well, with clear or lightly tinted finishes enhancing the curl. When properly dried, it provides good stability for a wide range of turning projects. Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, vessels, pens, and decorative turnings.
Special Note:
These pieces may occasionally contain light mineral stain or ambrosia streaking. Curly figure runs through at least 75% of each piece.

   End grain sealed in wax to maintain moisture content

Great wood spindle materials

I bought several different species of spindle blanks, all are great. The Curly soft maple was very nice with a wonderful amount of curl throughout the entire spindle. It will make nice turnings for me.
