Product Description

Macassar Ebony (Diospyros celebica) is a striking exotic hardwood prized for its dramatic color contrast and exceptional density. The wood features bold black and dark brown striping over a golden to reddish-brown background, creating a highly distinctive and elegant appearance. Macassar Ebony turns cleanly with sharp tools, producing crisp detail and smooth surfaces. Its fine, dense grain allows it to sand and polish to a high, glass-like finish. When properly dried, it offers excellent stability and durability, making it ideal for precision and high-end turning projects. Common uses include turning blanks, pens, tool handles, knife scales, musical instruments, furniture accents, and decorative turnings.
