Canarywood (Centrolobium spp.) is a vibrant exotic hardwood prized for its bold color variation and striking natural figure. The wood displays a wide range of hues, from bright yellow and golden tones to orange, red, and darker brown streaks, often all within the same piece. Canarywood turns cleanly with sharp tools, producing smooth cuts and crisp detail. Its fine to medium texture allows it to sand easily and finish to a bright, polished surface. When properly dried, canarywood offers good stability, making it suitable for both decorative and functional turning projects.
