Kiln Dried White Wenge
White Wenge (Amphimas pterocarpoides)—also known as Lati—is an African hardwood valued for its light color and bold, linear grain. It is not at all related to Wenge. The wood ranges from pale yellow to light tan.
Lati turns well with sharp tools and controlled cuts. Its grain is generally straight to interlocked with a coarse texture, giving it strong visual character. When properly dried, Lati offers good stability and finishes nicely, especially when the grain is filled and polished to highlight contrast.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, furniture components, accents, and decorative turnings.
