Curly Cherry is a highly figured form of cherry prized for its shimmering curl and rich, warm color. The wood ranges from light pinkish-brown to reddish tones that deepen over time, with the curly figure creating beautiful movement and depth across the surface.
Curly Cherry turns smoothly with sharp tools, allowing for clean cuts and crisp detail. Its fine, straight grain combined with the curl sands easily and finishes exceptionally well, developing a warm, lustrous sheen that highlights the figure. When properly dried, it offers excellent stability for both functional and decorative turning projects.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, vessels, furniture accents, and showcase pieces.
