European Beech (Fagus sylvatica) is a fine, even-textured hardwood known for its pale color, smooth grain, and excellent workability. The wood ranges from creamy white to light pinkish-brown, often with subtle figuring that gives finished pieces a clean, refined appearance. European Beech turns very smoothly with sharp tools, allowing for precise shaping and crisp detail. Its tight, uniform grain sands easily and accepts finishes well, making it ideal for both functional and decorative projects. When properly dried, beech offers good stability, though it benefits from controlled moisture conditions. Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, tool handles, furniture parts, and kitchenware.
