Product Description

Ash is a strong, versatile hardwood valued for its light color, excellent workability, and pronounced grain. The wood typically ranges from creamy white to light tan with subtle brown streaks, giving it a clean, classic appearance. Ash has a straight, open grain that turns easily and predictably on the lathe, making it a favorite for both beginners and experienced turners. It cuts cleanly with sharp tools, holds detail well, and sands quickly. When properly dried, ash offers good stability and accepts stains and finishes exceptionally well. Common uses include turning blanks, tool handles, furniture parts, baseball bats, and utility items where strength and flexibility are important.

Great piece for rolling pin

I really wanted a piece 2.25” square by 15” long, but no one had one. So I trimmed it down to what I needed. Then turned it to a French style rolling pin. Purchaser was really pleased with it. I had sanded it to 2,000 grit, so it would roll smoothly and not pick up much dough.
