Figured Hard Maple is a premium hardwood prized for its strength, bright color, and dramatic natural figure. The wood ranges from creamy white to light golden tones and may display eye-catching curly, quilted, or crotch feathering that adds depth and visual interest. Figured Hard Maple turns cleanly with sharp tools, allowing for crisp detail and smooth cuts. Its dense, fine grain sands well and finishes beautifully, especially with clear or lightly tinted finishes that enhance the figure. When properly dried, it offers excellent stability and durability for both functional and decorative turning projects. Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, vessels, furniture accents, and showcase pieces.

These pieces contain medium to heavy figure through at least 75% of the blank. Cut from the crotchwood section of the tree they may contain small cracks and bark pockets.
