Product Description

Bloodwood (Brosimum rubescens) is a dense exotic hardwood prized for its intense red color and exceptional durability. Freshly cut, the wood displays vivid crimson to deep red tones that darken over time to a rich burgundy or reddish-brown with age and exposure to light. Bloodwood turns cleanly with sharp tools, allowing for crisp detail and smooth surfaces. Its fine, tight grain and high density contribute to excellent strength and wear resistance, making it well suited for precision and functional turning projects. Common uses include turning blanks, pens, tool handles, knife scales, inlays, and decorative turnings.

BLOODWOOD OFTEN CONTAINS SURFACE CHECKS. LET THE BLANKS ACLIMATE DRY OR GREEN FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BLANKS THAT CRACK AFTER TURNING!!

Wood arrived ready to shape

I ordered a number of the 5” by 2” for making bowls. All arrived ready to work with. Ends were sealed with wax so no change in moisture content. Happy I found this source for bowl blanks.

I've always loved Bloodwood, and this was one of the best Bloodwood blanks I have ever enjoyed. But then, I've always received the most beautiful wood bowl blanks from Got Wood, never have I received anything I was not happy with..
