Product Description

Also known as Bolivian rosewood or Pau Ferro. Not a true rosewood, but very closely related and nearly identical in every way. Recommended for experienced turners. Wood contains a variety of colors: oranges, browns, reddish-browns, and black with occasional tones of purple. This species is dense, straight grained, and turns extremely well. A pleasure to work with. Cutting requires sharp tools. Sands to a very high lusture, finishes easily, and is stable when dried.

Morado is a favorite to turn. It cuts cleanly, finishes very nicely, and has wonderful figure. It also is very stable. Please see submitted picture of a Morado bowl sent a month ago.
