Freshly cut Cocobolo may display brilliant orange, yellow and red coloration with dark streaks. Exposure to air and light gradually transforms those colors into deeper reddish-brown and burgundy tones.

Surprising takeaway: A freshly turned Cocobolo piece may not retain its initial fiery orange appearance. Clear finishes showcase the grain, but they cannot completely prevent the wood’s natural maturation.
