Kiln Dried Black Limba
Black Limba (Terminalia superba)—often called Korina—is an exotic hardwood prized for its striking contrast and bold natural character. The wood ranges from pale yellow to light tan, dramatically accented by dark brown to nearly black streaks and figuring that make every piece unique.
Black Limba turns and machines well with sharp tools, producing smooth cuts and clean detail. Its grain can vary from straight to moderately interlocked, offering visual interest while remaining workable on the lathe. When properly dried, it provides good stability and finishes beautifully, especially with clear finishes that highlight the contrast between light and dark areas.
Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, decorative turnings, furniture accents, and instrument components.
