East Indian Rosewood turns well, but its moderately coarse vessels may remain visible after fine sanding. The USDA recommends filling the pores when an exceptionally smooth surface is desired.
Why it matters: Turners can leave the pores visible for a natural appearance or use grain filler before applying a glass-smooth finish.
