Spanish Cedar is one of the few tropical woods with ring-porous anatomy. Larger earlywood pores form visible bands marking each year’s growth.
Why it matters: These pore bands can add repeating texture to a turning. They may remain visible after sanding unless filled before applying a smooth film finish.
Picture is embelished to better demonstrate the pores!
