Birch is a strong, fine-grained hardwood valued for its light color and smooth, uniform texture. The wood typically ranges from creamy white to pale yellow, sometimes with light brown or reddish tones, giving it a clean, contemporary appearance. Birch turns smoothly with sharp tools and holds detail well, making it suitable for both functional and decorative turning projects. Its tight grain sands easily and accepts stains and finishes evenly, allowing it to mimic darker woods when desired. When properly dried, birch offers good strength and stability. Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, furniture parts, kitchenware, and utility items.

Most blanks are mainly white, but some can be solid or mostly redish brown as well!
