Product Description

Etimoe (Copaifera salikounda) is an attractive African hardwood valued for its rich color, durability, and refined appearance. The wood ranges from light pinkish-brown to medium reddish-brown, often deepening with age and accented by subtle darker streaks. Etimoe turns and machines well with sharp tools, producing smooth cuts and clean detail. Its grain is typically straight to slightly interlocked with a fine to medium texture, offering good strength while remaining manageable on the lathe. When properly dried, etimoe provides good stability and finishes nicely, developing a warm, natural luster. Common uses include turning blanks, bowls, spindles, furniture components, cabinetry, and decorative projects.

Etimoe and morado from got wood

I had never tried etimoe but found it best resembled cuban mahogany. maybe a little harder, The morado was Fantastic, could easily pass for BRAZZILIAN ROSEWOOD, i mean the old stuff not the stuff we get now. But look out if you are allergic to rosewood then you are allergic to morado as well. I would rate the etimoe as good as mahogany and the morado was THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN, ABSOLUTELY WORLD CLASS
