Figured Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) is a premium domestic hardwood prized for its rich color and striking natural figure. The heartwood ranges from deep chocolate brown to purplish-brown, often showcasing beautiful curl, crotch, or feather figure that adds depth and visual interest. Figured Black Walnut turns smoothly with sharp tools, allowing for clean cuts and crisp detail. Its fine, stable grain sands easily and finishes exceptionally well, developing a warm, natural luster that highlights the figure. The piece I got was alright, I sent a email to y’all that I was building a violin out of crotch walnut and need a very nice piece for the violin neck it had a few curls in it nothing spectacular. But I have to order another piece because I didn’t order it big enough. You’ll be hearing from me soon , I’ll definitely buy from you again . Tim

Figured walnut get it while you can

I bought these during the Black Friday sale. Even looking at them rough sawn you can tell they're beautiful, but I rounded one just to see for sure, and it didn't disappoint. Can't wait to turn them into ornaments.
